Top 5 Social Networking Apps in Italy Q3 2024

During the third quarter of 2024, Italy witnessed varying trends in the performance of its top social networking applications across a unified platform. This analysis, sourced from Sensor Tower data, delves into the downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these apps.

Threads saw a positive trajectory in downloads, starting with 93K in early July and peaking at 124K by the end of September. The app's weekly active users also increased steadily from 187K to 209K during the same period.

Telegram Messenger experienced a consistent rise in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $46K by the end of September. Downloads showed a notable increase mid-quarter, peaking at 91K in the week of August 19, while active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter at around 11M.

For WhatsApp Messenger, downloads peaked at 94K in mid-August after starting at 70K in early July. Its weekly active users remained robust, increasing from 33M to 33.4M throughout the quarter.

Google Meet downloads exhibited a gradual increase, especially towards the end of the quarter, peaking at 38K in the last week of September. Meanwhile, weekly active users showed a slight increase, reaching 460K by the end of the period.

Finally, Facebook maintained a stable revenue trend, closing the quarter with approximately $25K. Downloads fluctuated slightly, peaking at 74K in early August, while weekly active users showed a slight upward trend, ending at 24M.
